Honda Powersports, the leading Japanese OEM motorcycle manufacturer, needed a redesign of their U.S. web property. The site needed to support 50+ vehicles, spanning two model years, targeted at Powersports enthusiasts from ages 16 to 65+.
We started by developing personas around each product category since Honda’s Powersports lineup varied wildly between use, terrain and skill level.
Next we developed dozens of site comps to test in qualitative focus groups with participants representing each of our personas to help shape what Powersports users really wanted from a website.
The end result supports over a million unique visitors each month exploring, researching and dreaming of Honda Powersports product within its 1600+ pages.
The 1600+ page Honda Powersports site was designed to attract and service enthusiasts ranging from 16 years old to 65+, across 2 production years of 50+ models ranging from high performance street bikes to scooters to dirt bikes to personal watercraft.
We divided the site into three distinct categories of vehicles: those for street use, those for offroad use or dirt, and water. We then chose color schemes to match those environmental subdivisions of product.
